Remote Monitoring with Raspberry Pi

Raspberry Pi gateways provide low‑cost, reliable access to on‑site equipment. A typical setup uses a Pi with two interfaces—one to the plant LAN and one to the internet—connecting through a cloud VPN to expose a small, controlled subset of devices.

1. Install a lightweight OS and harden SSH
2. Join a managed VPN (OpenVPN/WireGuard)
3. Expose only what’s needed: PLC/HMI or a data broker
